From September 15th to 18th, "Tokyo Game Show 2022" is being held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama Ward, Chiba City). At the event, which was held at a real venue for the first time in about three years, PC-related exhibition booths are increasing their presence.

Intel, which is known for its CPUs, is also setting up a bigger booth than three years ago to bring excitement to the Tokyo Game Show 2022. At the company's booth, I saw an "unreleased" notebook PC from NEC Personal Computer

(NECPC), so I would like to introduce it.

The Intel booth is bigger than it was three years ago. As shown in the photo, it is easy to understand because it is lit with blue lighting, which is the company's image color.

In setting up the booth this time, in addition to PC manufacturers, we have received cooperation from game software manufacturers/vendors, so that you can experience PC games including unreleased titles.

A notebook PC with an independent GPU for the first time in a long time under the NEC brand

At the event "Intel Blue Community Project Kick off event" held by Intel on June 17, NECPC suggested the development of a new product equipped with the same GPU as "a manufacturer that agrees with Intel Arc Graphics".

NECPC released the gaming desktop PC "LAVIE GX" in July, but the product is equipped with NVIDIA's "GeForce RTX 3060" or AMD's "Radeon RX 6400", and at the moment it is equipped with the Inter Arc Graphics series. there is no model.

At the Intel booth at Tokyo Game Show 2022, the GeForce RTX 3060-equipped model (GX750/EAB) is displayed as a trial machine for "Street Fighter VI" in the NECPC corner.

Meanwhile, a new model of “LAVIE N15” equipped with unannounced Intel Arc Graphics is on display at the Intel booth at Tokyo Game Show 2022.

The LAVIE N15 is a 15.6-inch notebook PC for consumers. Including the same series, NECPC has not released a notebook PC with an independent GPU for a while, and this new model of LAVIE N15 will be a model with an independent GPU for the first time in a long time.

Details other than the fact that this LAVIE N15 is "equipped with Intel Arc Graphics" and "the CPU is the 12th generation Core i7 processor" have not been clarified. However, as far as the appearance is concerned, it seems that it has already reached the mass production level.

At the NECPC corner in the booth, you can experience playing "Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak" with this "mysterious" LAVIE N15. According to the explainer, "Iris Xe Graphics (integrated into the CPU) can play reasonably well, but with this N15, you can play more smoothly."

At the NECPC corner, you can play the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak on the reference exhibit LAVIE N15. When I actually tried it, it certainly seemed to move more smoothly than the model with Iris Xe Graphics alone.

Many exhibits related to Intel Arc Graphics
The Intel booth also has other exhibits related to Intel Arc Graphics.

At the Intel Arc Graphics corner, graphics cards equipped with "Intel Arc A380 Graphics" and "Intel Arc A750 Graphics" are on display. Although details are not written, it is clear from the appearance that it is ASRock's Challenger brand card.

In addition, it is now possible to experience games with a PC that uses Intel Arc Graphics, such as a desktop gaming PC equipped with Intel's genuine "Intel Arc A770 Graphics" graphics card. For those who are curious about Arc Graphics' "ability", it would be a good idea to visit Makuhari Messe after 14:00 on September 16th (open to the public).
