Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) will release the new Ryzen 7000 series (Fig. 1) of MPUs (microprocessors) for desktop PCs worldwide on September 27, 2022 News release. AMD held an online event "together we advance_PCs" to introduce new products on August 29, 2022 (local time), with Chairman and CEO Lisa Su and others on stage. The Ryzen 7000 series will integrate 4th generation Zen cores, dubbed "Zen 4". Four products (Figure 2) were announced this time, with recommended retail prices in the US of US$299-US$699. Both products support PCI Express Gen5. Also, the external memory is DDR5 type SDRAM (DDR4 type SDRAM is not supported). Among the four products, the high-end "Ryzen 9 7950X" has 11% higher single-thread performance, 44% higher multi-thread performance, and 47% higher power efficiency than Intel's "Core i9 12900K" (Fig. 3). .
