Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst familiar with Apple's supply chain intelligence, has reported on the status of orders for the iPhone 14 series in China. Two iPhone 14 Pro models account for 85% of the total, and the 6.7-inch standard model "iPhone 14 Plus" is the lowest, less than 5%.

Kuo also noted that pre-orders for Apple's high-end products are always popular in the early stages. This year's order status has a higher proportion of Pro models than last year, which reflects "changes in Apple's product segment strategy (only Pro models are major updates)".

Apple has installed the latest "A16 Bionic" chip only in the iPhone 14 Pro model, and has diverted last year's A15 (5-core GPU version for 13 Pro) to the standard model. So Kuo didn't say what the difference would be between the Phone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, in the iPhone 12th generation, only the Pro Max model is equipped with a sensor-shift image stabilization function, and there is a precedent for omitting it in the Pro model.

Kuo previously predicted that in the iPhone 15th generation, only the Pro Max would have a periscope telephoto lens.
